Just about everyone's avatars are creative, because they choose it to represent themselves in one way or another. Usually when someone comments I feel like its their avatar or meaning of their avatar is speaking
Omigosh, no matter how much I hate to admit it, YES. I mean you can tell what their art is like about 80 percent of the time. A wonderful example of an exception to that rule is actually myself. You can thank like four iPod Touch photo editing programs for that.
Somewhat, I'll admit; it also depends on their signature, if they have one, sometimes. /: D If it's a clipping of one of their drawings or it'ms moving or such, I may be interested...y'know, that's just me. I say their signature too, since it can be something about 'this person doesn't brush their teeth' and gives a trick link, or a quote off of A Midsummer Night's Dream, or just something that's well thought-up and funny.
Sometimes an avatar may reflect ones own artistic ability, but that's only sometimes. If it's a drawing of ones own gallery, and it doesn't look too good, it could possibly be taken for granted. You never know until you take a peek. Judging a book by it's cover is often inaccurate. Anyone can be a great artist, regardless how their avatar attracts viewers. It could look really cool! And the art could perhaps turn out to be, not as good as you thought or was hoping it to be.
I wouldn't judge someone based on their avatar! I mean, someone could have a...for le example: They could have a pic of a Littlest Pet Shop, and they're 20 and extremely serious :/ You could refer a sexual avatar to a perv. Yet someone has a avvie like that and they're really not like that. Or nice. :3
I wouldn't necessary say "judge;" it's more like avatars give me an idea of what each artist is like or is interested in. It's obviously not the whole picture of their identity, so I'd look at each person's gallery and profile to learn more about them
I use my avatar as a mini advertisement of my capabilities. Mind you, the particular image i'm using now was colored by someone else, I drew the original and chose the composition in a way I felt expressed who I am. I feel others should understand this concept of "self advertisement" and showcase a teaser of their greatest works in their avatar, not some stupid fandom they like that tells me nothing of what they're capable of. Give me a reason to click!!
Avatars are designed to be a summary of your profile. By design we are so, so much inclined to judge the owner on the profile through this. More often than not too it is a relatively accurate indication of the kind of profile you would see should you click on it to explore. On the flip side too, I know that my own avatar is chosen by me to portray myself in a particular way, and I expect it to be "judged" as it were based on the avatar I chose too.
I do it... but only if the avatar calls my atention, for example: if the avatar looks reaaally cool then Iīll go to the profile to check his/her work.. But I donīt usually judge the personality or stuff like that because u canīt tell almost anything but the taste for certain things
I don't usually judge somebody by their avatar, it is kind of like judging a book by their cover. However, I don't like the avatars with breasts and butt bouncing or anything in that regard. I don't mind nudity as an art form, but I do believe in crossing the line and objectifying men and women.
